Workshops:

 

 

Various workshops on topics like idea generation, Finance, Investments, Mind mapping, social entrepreneurship etc are conducted to equip students with required skills for entrepreneurship.
 

Mock Placements

The mock placement drive was conducted for all students from SE to ME in KJSCE in order to get rid of their phobia of interviews and aptitude tests. It comprised of an aptitude test paper set by TIME classes followed by a speaker session on Soft skills by Ms. Suman  Kher, IIM Indore alumnus and corporate trainer. Ms. Suman Kher is a communication and soft skills trainer since 2003. She has trained on diverse topics like business communication, presentation skills, email etiquette, customer service, language skills, soft skills, personal interview, group discussion, personality effectiveness and basic selling skills. She is a certified trainer from Dale Carnegie, India. Finally a GD-PI round was conducted by experienced alumni. We got around 190 registrations and conducted the workshop successfully.

ENVOYAGE-PRE SUMMIT WORKSHOP

ENVOYAGE-PRE SUMMIT WORKSHOP

Organized in collaboration with IIT-B e-cell, this workshop consisted of a speaker session by Mr. Rajiv Indimath, IIM Calcutta alumnus, who spoke about the basics of entrepreneurship and a quiz related to start-ups. The workshop was highly successful with lots of participants.

MINT MONEY WORKSHOP

MINT MONEY WORKSHOP

It was a two day workshop in association with HDFC Mutual Fund and Mutual Vision Investments. The students learnt the mechanism of stocks and mutual funds and how to exactly go about investing by learning to map, predict and analyze the stocks and mutual funds. The first day consisted of a speaker session by Mihir Kulkarni, an SE IT student and an investor since the launch of his first entrepreneurial venture at the age of 15. He manages significantly large portfolios in stocks. The second day consisted of a speaker session by Aniruddha Rahalkar, Chief Advisor of Mutual Vision Investments- HDFC MF National distributors. He is a retail investor for past 13 years and advices about 150 investors across the globe.

GyaanBox events:

1. Embedded C Workshop:-
The workshop was conducted to give students a thorough overview of Embedded C and its advantages. The workshop was taken by third years from KJSCE and was attended by quite a few students.

Mind Map Workshop

This workshop was conducted by Mr. Dharmendra Rai in association with AIESEC on 8th October, 2013. The aim of the workshop was to demonstrate how talent is not just a gift but something than can be inculcated in a person with enough practice and the right tools. One such tool is the Mind Map Tool which is useful for entrepreneurs and non-entrepreneurs alike.

Idea Generation

This workshop was conducted on 17th of September. In this workshop students will had a brainstorming session of about 30 minutes wherein they have to come up with creative and innovative business ideas by using pictures of various situations as clues. A session full of mind boggling discussions. The team with maximum number of ideas and the team with most innovative business plans wins the competition. The targeted audiences are the 2nd year students as they have maximum scope of starting up their own ventures. The event is aimed at honing the creativity of students and searching for the hidden entrepreneurs amidst us.
The entire BloomBox team has been instrumental in the planning and deciding the logistics for this event.

Campus company workshop

The participants consisted of students from Atharva college of engineering, Thakur Institute of Management, KJSCE and SIMSR. A total of 13 campus companies participated.

There were two NEN speakers who conducted the workshop-

The workshop was divided into two parts; the first part included an hour long motivational session by Dr. Prasad (Faculty & Adviser at NITIE Centre for Student Enterprises) on entrepreneurship. The second included a case study and learning financial terms by Prof Neena Nanda, (Assistant Professor  at Institute for technology and Management (ITM))

The event concluded with the showcasing of all campus companies present and networking, brainstorming session.

Online Marketing Workshop

Conducted by Mr.DevendraNaik, Director of P2S Information Systems Pvt. Ltd. It was an interactive session that provided students with a brief overview of the concepts and the potential of this growing industry. As part of our initiative U-Intern, students were also provided with an opportunity to take up a paid internship at this company during their vacations.

The workshop provided hands on fundamental knowledge to students which is imperative while implementing various electronic and technology driven projects.

Mr.HimatBhanushali, Managing Director, Soft-Troid conducted a comprehensive three day workshop on Android application development.

DELL CAMPASSADOR PROGRAM 2014’

The Dell Campassador Program is the perfect platform to hone your leadership skills, explore various other talents that you might possess, shape up a new set of skills and represent one of the biggest and most exciting brands in the country – Dell. A total of eight representatives were nominated from Somaiya which included four representatives from KJSCE and four representatives from SIMSR.

One of the flagship events of Bloombox, Gang Rush, is a fun-filled event conducted on Gang Day every year, where the various gangs of KJSCE take part in the various games and competitions that have been organized in order to test their teamwork, time management and other skills.

Masterchef Somaiya 

Masterchef Somaiya 

This event, whose name was inspired by an immensely popular food competition loved across the nation, was conducted to give the students of KJSCE a chance to explore entrepreneurial experiences in the food industry. The students had to prepare delicious dishes and come up with a witty marketing strategy in order to sell the food to the faculty and students of KJSCE. This event took place on 27th February, 2014.

Abhiyantriki Events

With the technical festival of the college, Bloombox have organised some exciting events  on 1st October.

 

1.Topsy Turvy:
This is a group event with a maximum of 5 participants. Participants will be given futuristic problems pertaining India such as Traffic etc. As the name suggests, this EXERCISE  will make participants think about how to take the problem from bad to worse!  Break the rules and indulge them with some crazy thinking. After all ‘Good ideas come from bad ideas, but only if there are enough of them’.
The main aim is to:
    a) Instill an open, resourceful mindset in the students
    b) Initiate creative thinking and innovative approaches
    c)  Engage in idea generation

 

2.The Takeover:
Students will participate in groups to auction some of the best companies in the world. They will be given certain points using which they have to bid for companies. Awards will be given keeping in mind a variety of factors. The event promises to be a thriller. The worries, the frowns. the eagerness, the anxieties on participants’ face would be a thing to note.

 

 3.The Legends Of The Hidden Temple:
There are going to be 5 games, each based on core entrepreneurial value such as teamwork , strategy, spontaneity, creative skills , planning , decision making ability. ’Time’ is the most important factor in these games. The team with the least cumulative time wins the competition. The games will require tremendous enthusiasm of the participants and a “Never Say Die Attitude”. Each and every member of the team will have a balanced role to play.

Fun- Filled activity where participants had to pitch their business idea along with a MARKETING strategy.

6.Techno Freak

Workshop on basics of Android programming followed by a competition.

 

7.GAME ARCHITECT

The game architect event, organized for our annual tech-fest, Abhiyantriki, was a fun event conducted by Bloombox where participants got to exercise their creativity and make up their own board game! It allowed students to use their imagination and creativity to the maximum level and the results were quite remarkable.

The Improvement

In order to instill basic business skills and work ethics, “The Improvement” program was undertaken wherein students worked for a diverse set of SMEs (small and medium scale enterprises) across the city, helping them eradicate bottlenecks and provide ‘improvements’ to the enterprises’ existing business model which enabled them to learn the intricacies of running a business.

Bloombox kick-started the odd semester with an interactive session for second year students. The idea was to stimulate out-of- the box thinking by encouraging them to identify business opportunities out of seemingly ordinary everyday situations thereby touching new horizons of ingenuity and innovation. The event was conducted on 26th July by Mr. Ajay Salpekar, Project Manager at Microsoft.
