MASTERCHEF SOMAIYA

Masterchef Somaiya provided a platform for students to run their own mini restaurants for a day and experience the nuances of being a food entrepreneur such as getting the adequate amount of food material, finding the perfect recipe, make an impactful marketing strategy as well as keep competitive prices for all the food items. The teams also learnt the economics of running a food business by finding a fine balance between correct pricing of food items and the profitability of the venture. With participation from 8 teams from KJSCE each comprising of four members, the competition was really intense and the judges had a tough time finalizing the top two teams.

The Curious Engineer has more than 27k subscribers & over 1 million views & has been recognized by ISRO for his beautiful explanatory videos. He’ll be telling you his story of YouTube. How did he start earning, what inspired him and how did he become a successful Youtuber.

Inter Council War was organised by BloomBox, E-Cell KJSCE on 2nd and 3rd of March , 2015.

This event comprised of fun games as a friendly competition between the participating councils of KJSCE.

Kartavya is an ongoing social initiative wherein we encourage students to don the educator’s hat and tutor the good folks in the canteen in the basics of computers and Internet which they can implement in their daily lives.

Panel Discussion on Social Entrepreneurship

The panel discussion was an inspiring session where students interacted with two young entrepreneurs, Jasmeet Thind, Vice President at Make A Difference and Farrhad Acidwala, CEO Rockstah Media who shed light on the various opportunities that social entrepreneurship provides.

Speaker Session on Soft Skills

Speaker Session was conducted by Ms. Suman Kher.
Ms. Suman Kher is communication and soft skills trainer since 2003. She has trained on diverse topics like business communication, presentation skills, email etiquette, customer service, language skills, soft skills, personal interview, group discussion, personality effectiveness and basic selling skills.

She is a certified trainer from Dale Carnegie, India through their ‘Train the Trainer’ program in March 2010 and Hero Mindmine, the pioneer in call center training in 2003. She is currently pursuing a Diploma in Training and Development from ISTD (Indian Society for Training and Development), Delhi.

Mock Placements

The mock placement drive was conducted for all students from SE to ME in KJSCE in order to get rid of their phobia of interviews and aptitude tests. It comprised of an aptitude test paper set by TIME classes followed by a speaker session on Soft skills by Ms. Suman  Kher, IIM Indore alumnus and corporate trainer. Ms. Suman Kher is a communication and soft skills trainer since 2003. She has trained on diverse topics like business communication, presentation skills, email etiquette, customer service, language skills, soft skills, personal interview, group discussion, personality effectiveness and basic selling skills. She is a certified trainer from Dale Carnegie, India. Finally a GD-PI round was conducted by experienced alumni. We got around 190 registrations and conducted the workshop successfully.

Startup Expo

Startup Expo

The objective of event was to provide exposure to students about the current trends in start-ups along with internship opportunities. The expo facilitated networking amongst the start-ups and provided them with opportunity to acquire mentoring, funding and incubation at RIIDL(Research Innovation Incubation Design Lab)
